Quarry Manager

We currently have a vacancy for a Quarry Manager. In this role the successful candidate will report to the Director of Production.

Responsibilities of the Role

  • Ensuring all activities within the quarry are undertaken with due consideration for the Health and Safety of anyone who could be impacted
  • Providing direction to the Foreman & Quarry Operatives and supporting the wider Management Team across NI
  • Closely monitoring all areas of the quarry to ensure that extraction and processing work is carried out to the highest standard and production targets are met
  • Ensure the agreed safety, environmental, cost, quality & service objectives are achieved through successful and effective management of the site
  • Develop, lead and manage the production function to ensure that specific KPI’s are achieved or exceeded
  • Ensure costs are properly allocated to allow monthly accounts to be accurately prepared
  • Undertake workplace risk assessments and site inspections to develop safe working procedures
  • Assist H&S team to investigate accidents and determine root cause to prevent repeat incidents
  • Assist in the completion and maintenance of all relevant site paperwork, including timesheets, plant check lists, safety documentation & management reports
  • Ensure compliance with key government health and safety legislation 
  • Develop and implement site development plans for the effective extraction of reserves in line with the relevant planning permissions
  • Undertake reasonable additional duties when required


  • Previous experience as a Quarry Manager or other suitable experience
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety matters
  • Experience & thorough knowledge of drilling, blasting & quarry operations
  • Good understanding of heavy plant and machinery, including maintenance planning
  • Good analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective decisions
  • Strong understanding of government legislation and industry developments and challenges
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Full Driving License
