Health And Safety Initiatives

Visible Felt Leadership (VFL)

We actively encourage all our employees to participate in improving health, safety and welfare standards by holding regular health and safety meetings throughout our company. these meetings allow a flow of information relating to safety matters that affect the employees working in the various functional areas.

Additionally, we have trained our directors, senior and middle managers to participate in a Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) programme of safety visits to all our production locations and contract sites. This programme was initiated following attendance at a HSENI Annual Lecture on the subject by Professor Peter McKie who impressed on the audience of Company Directors the need for them to show visible leadership in improving health and safety standards.

Our VFL programme is designed to raise safety awareness by being visible and felt, by recording and dealing with unsafe acts and safety suggestions we aim to improve our safety performance. It also allows consultation with our employees regarding their input into our controlled document system with respect to our procedures, risk assessments and safe work instructions.
